Berries! They need no introduction, no special preparation – they are beautiful and taste wonderful just as they are! Not to mention the plethora of nutrients they provide – they really are the wonder food of the Summer season!  Use them to top celebration cakes or a simple smoothie, you don’t need to be much of an artist when it comes to making them look pretty because they do that all on their own – the jewels and candy of the fruit kingdom!

You could also take them to the next level by adding some crumbled Chocolate Chip, Coconut and Oat Energy Square Bites!

This smoothie bowl takes just minutes to make, and maybe a few minutes to marvel at your pretty creation before you devour it! 😉

  • 1/2 cup frozen raspberries
  • 1 small banana
  • 2 TBSP thick yoghurt
  • a splash of water


  • 1 cup mixed Summer berries - cherries, blueberries, strawberries, blackberries etc washed, chopped
  • 1 chocolate chip coconut and oat energy square bite or use any granola


  • Begin by making the smoothie by adding the smoothie ingredients to a blender and blitzing until smooth. Add to a bowl and top with the berries and crumbled choc chip, coconut and oat energy square bite (see recipe link above) or use regular granola. Serve.
