Begin this recipe the night before if you prefer your oats pre-soaked. Place the oats in a bowl and top with plenty of water and a splash of apple cider vinegar. The next morning, rinse in a sieve under cold running water, then place the oats in a pan with the plant-based milk and simmer for 15 mins until thick and creamy.
If you prefer not to pre-soak your oats or you do not have time, simply cook the oats with the milk in the pan for 20 mins - check the fluid level and add more milk if the oats begin to dry out or stick to the pan.
Once the oats have cooked, allow to cool for a few minutes before adding to a bowl and topping with the remaining ingredients.
Serve.
